MENTOPLASTY OR INCREASE in CHIN
The chin surgery is usually performed together with a nose surgery (rhinoplasty), in order to provide a symmetrical and harmonious profile with the rest of the face.
The procedure consists in the increasing of the chin (retrognathia), by silicone prosthesis.
The surgery is done under local or general anaesthesia depending on the clinical case. It lasts one hour and hospitalization for 12 to 24 hours in a common room.
After surgery the patient will take antibiotics, analgesics for 4 days, keeping plaster splint and stitches for 7 days.
You can also perform surgeries shortening the chin horizontally or vertically etc. With the aim of getting a symmetrical, harmonious and aesthetically acceptable face.
Complications: hematoma, infection, rejection, wound dehiscence etc.
